First and foremost they approved next year's budge. They'll be working with 270 million dollars, a 5 million dollar increase from this year. There won't be any new taxes, and the general fund will have more than 56 million dollars.
And the pit bull ban will remain in place for now. Yakima Codes Manager, Joe Caruso was pleased, but surrounded by many who wanted the ban lifted. There was a pretty heated debate among council member who say they will revisit the issue in the future. But again for now, the ban remains.
