Yakima'a city council to discuss bond funding for downtown plaza
YAKIMA, Wash.- With over $9 million privately raised for the Downtown Plaza, Yakima’s City Council will be meeting to discuss the city’s portion of funding on Tuesday.
The city has already spent over a million dollars on design and other preliminary work.
City leaders say the purpose of the plaza is to stimulate new business development and jobs, as well as provide a gathering and event space.
The downtown plaza is expected to cost around 12 million dollars and, as of right now, there is no timeline of when construction will start or end.
The Yakima City Council will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 5th.
