Yakima water main break damages homes
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A large water main break knocked off water supply and damaged some West Valley homes. It happened just before sunrise Thursday near 70th and Tieton Avenues.
The water flooded dozens of nearby properties. Homes and landscaping were damaged by the water and machinery.
One man said his pool and basement were flooded.
"I got woken up by a police officer knocking on the door. I opened my door and she said my house looked like it was about to flood and I might want to come out, get out," said neighbor Kevin Follansee.
It's not clear what caused the break. The water is running again in those homes.
