Yakima toddler's Christmas gift found

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A happy ending for a Yakima three-year old girl whose Christmas gift disappeared yesterday.

Thanks to a viewer call to KIMA, her present has been located.

Her parents gave her a toy car on behalf of her grandfather. He died earlier this year.

The family took the car to the banks of the Yakima River behind their house on Clover Lane. They went to play around the corner. When they came back, the car was gone.

A viewer saw our story and called KIMA. She says her stepson and grandson were fishing in the area when they noticed the car. They took it back to their house for safekeeping. The child's mother is picking up the car tonight.
