Yakima suspect arrested for robbery and kidnapping, other charges
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Yakima man is behind bars and facing multiple charges after police said he robbed another man at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
Police said 28-year-old Anthony Joaquin Pantaleon robbed the victim of more than $5,000 worth of jewelry and personal items. They said the victim was walking in the 10 block of South Second Street when Pantaleon pulled up and ordered him into the car at gunpoint. He was released after the robbery.
Authorities later arrested Pantaleon at his home, where he reportedly told police his cousin threatened to beat up the victim if he did not hand over everything, including jewelry, 14 grams of gold, $80 and his phone.
Pantaleon faces charges of first-degree robbery and kidnapping, unlawful firearms possession, and felony harassment.
