Yakima Steak Company is finally here
YAKIMA Wash.-- The new Yakima Steak Company is opening its doors to the public Wednesday morning.
Owner of Yakima steak company, Jamie Whitney says, people can look forward to their new unique menu.
"It's going to be light and bright new. It’s going to be flashier prettier tastier in addition to steaks were going to have halibut, wild boar, duck, diver scallops.. we've got a very diverse menu," said Whitney.
The steakhouse will also be offering seafood dishes.
They have a bar area offering 36 local wines and 19 beers that are all local.
Although they are still getting everything together for tomorrows opening they say they tried to give this restaurant a modern rustic look.
"It's inherently rustic because of the cool beams that are in here this has always been a really amazing building so what we tried to do is really warm up the colors and kind of have the restaurant have its day,” said restaurant Designer Nicole Snipes.
Former employees from Black Angus Steakhouse were hired to work at Yakima Steak Company along with 22 new hires.
Whitney says, he is happy with the way the restaurant is turning out and is excited to show the new place to everyone in town.
“Hoping to create some memories and make some new friends as well as welcome some old ones into the house so it’s kind of an overwhelming experience were really really excited today,” said Whitney.
Yakima Steak Company is located at the former Tony’s Steakhouse building at 221 W. Yakima avenue.
Everyone is welcome to stop by and check the place out.
