Yakima School District is asking for scarf, hat and glove donations
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima School District is looking for scarfs, hats and gloves donations.
YSD Superintendent Jack Irion says, they have decided to donate warm winter gear to students in the district.
Irion says because of the cold winter weather they have donated coats for several years, and now they want to start giving away winter accessories as well.
“You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give and it’s the idea of service to others," said Irion.
Irion says they want to be able to give away winter gear to about 2,000 kids this year.
The district is asking parents to donate any winter scarfs, hats or gloves of all colors and sizes.
People can deliver their donations to the front office of your neighborhood school.
