Yakima prosecutors dismiss appeal in Harper case

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A big decision Thursday by the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office in connection to the Kevin Harper case: The office is now looking to dismiss its appeal in the case.

Prosecutors wanted the opportunity to try Harper for the murders of three people in West Valley, but they believe the result of the appeal could have allowed Harper to have all his charges dismissed and to be released without having to serve time.

Harper struck a plea deal in 2012 on a weapons charge and possessing stolen property, not murder. He was sentenced to almost ten years in prison.

The prosecutor's full release on the decision is available
