Yakima Police Chief interviewing for job in Topeka

YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima's Chief of Police could soon be moving to Kansas.

Dominic Rizzi Jr. is one of three finalists going for the Topeka Police Chief position, according to Topeka City Manager Brent Trout.

Candidates Rizzi, along with William Cochran and D. Samuel Dotson will go through final interviews in January of 2018.

Rizzi has served as Yakima Police Chief since 2012, and previously served with the Chicago PD for 26 years.

Bill Cochran has been serving as the Interim Police Chief for the Topeka PD since November of 2017 and has worked for the department in various roles for 30 years.

D. Samuel Dotson has served as Police Chief for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department from December 2012 to April 2017 and has previously served the Mayor's office as Director of Operations.

Trout will announce the new police chief selection during the week of January 12.
