Yakima plans to discuss pit bull ban

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima will discuss the pit bull ban the city has in place. Local pit bull advocates want to soften or eliminate the ban against these dogs.

The impoundment of banned dogs in Yakima has generally dropped. In 2009 there were almost 100 banned dogs captured. Since mid-October this year there's been almost 40. Some people think the pit bull ban should be taken away.

"It's like other human beings that act out," said David Green. "What are you doing to do lock up every human being that acts out that's dangerous? Then you lock up those ones. You take those ones away."

Council will meet this Tuesday.
