Yakima officials looking to work with business leaders as downtown develops

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima leaders are responding to complaints of some business owners concerned that the Downtown Master Plan is moving too fast.

The city is forming a new committee to address these concerns.
It will be made up of business owners and private citizens representing the various sides of the debate.
They will be appointed by Yakima officials.

Some local store owners feel this is a good move.

"It allows us to address those most important issues and work through them and try to make everybody happy you know try and come to an easy solution," said Joe Mann, Owner of Ron's Coin and Collectables.

The goal is for council to approve of the new committee by the 19th.
