Yakima man arrested for threatening girlfriend

YAKIMA POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE -- On February 7, 2014 Yakima Police Officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Plath in the City of Yakima in reference to a domestic situation call. The call stated the suspect was in possession of a firearm and threatening to kill the victim. The female victim stated the suspect threatening to shoot the victim and her daughter if they tried to leave the residence.

When officers arrived, the Yakima Police Communications Center established contact with the victim and she and her daughter were able to leave the residence. Once the occupants of the residence were out of the residence, the suspect came out of the residence. The suspect was taken into custody.

The Yakima Police Detective Division assisted in the investigation. The investigation revealed the 31 year old suspect and 32 year old victim were in a dating relationship and lived together. There were no injuries to the victim or her 13 year old daughter. The suspect was booked into the Yakima County Jail for Felony Harassment-Domestic Violence for threatening to kill his girlfriend.

At the time of this press release the detectives assigned to this case were in the process of executing a search warrant at the residence. The detectives were continuing the investigation and there may be additional charges in this case.
