Yakima listed among top low-cost places to retire

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima's getting some recognition as a desirable place to retire.

"Where to Retire" magazine listed Yakima among its "Eight Low-Cost Cities." It based the ranking on cost of living, taxes, housing prices as well as overall attractiveness and livability.

Yakima was the only city in the Northwest to make the list. Other top picks included Anderson, South Carolina; Palm Coast, Florida; Tupelo, Mississippi; Covington, Kentucky; Norman, Oklahoma; Sherman, Texas, and Pueblo, Colorado.
