Yakima Humane Society opens training yard for dogs
YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima Humane Society has a new spot for dogs to roam without a leash.
The Kiwanis Club of Yakima and the Humane Society (YHS) opened the Dog Training Yard, a fenced-in, secured area located behind the adoption center for dogs to play and receive training.
The yard opened August 3, 2017 to provide behavior training and prepare shelter dogs for adoption according to a YHS news release.
The Kiwanis Club of Yakima and their trust foundation donated a total of $10,000 towards building the yard.
