Yakima girl named "Champion" for ill children

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Yakima girl is being recognized for her fight against a debilitating disease.

14-year-old Camery Broers was named the 2014 Children's Miracle Network Champion for Washington state. She was honored at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital Thursday.

Camery was born with DiGeorge syndrome, a genetic disorder that interferes with the development of internal organs.

As Champion, she'll make appearances throughout the year to represent seriously ill children in Washington.
