KIMA first told you about the hotline last November. It hadn't received any tips for two years at the time.
Since then, there have been about five calls. However, those calls haven't brought any arrests.
Officers with the gang unit think people don't call over fear of retaliation.
"It's something we deal with in almost every gang-related incident or crime report, is the fear of retribution or retaliation," said Officer Chris Taylor. "So, that's a big hurdle to overcome, not only for us but for the community as a whole."
Despite the inactivity, the gang unit says it's worth keeping the line open. The number to call is 575 -GANG.
