Yakima floodwaters recede near Lake Aspen, access to properties restored
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The area around Lake Aspen has reopened after severe flooding earlier this week.
City officials said access to homes and offices has been restored and residents can return to their properties near Lake Aspen and Willow Lake.
Fifty units were evacuated from the Lake Aspen apartment complex and about a dozen homes in the Aspen Village development.
City officials said the water has receded and they are currently working to restore electricity to the area. No time frame has been given for power to be fixed.
