Yakima firefighters hold service to honor 9/11

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima firefighters held a service Wednesday in memory of the firefighters who died on September 11th. Firefighters and officers had a moment of silence followed by a prayer. They came to the Yakima Convention Center to pay tribute to friends and families of the fallen. The service was led by Yakima Fire Chaplain Susan Whitman. City leaders reflected on the difficult time.

"It's very difficult knowing that it's not just their lives that were affected, but their families, their loved ones and their co-workers and it's something we will never forget," said Yakima Fire Battalion Chief Tom Sevigny.

Dozens of people were at the service honoring the thousands who died twelve years ago.
