Yakima County to pay $150K to settle sexual harassment lawsuit against coroner
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Yakima County will pay $150,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit against the county coroner.
County commissioners approved to pay the settlement Tuesday afternoon.
According to the lawsuit, a former employee of the coroner's office claims Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins made inappropriate physical contact such as touching, rubbing her shoulder and kissing.
The city said this settlement does not mean Hawkins is admitting to any wrongdoing.
Commissioners would not provide further comment on the lawsuit.
