Yakima County to drop 54 pending marijuana cases
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima County prosecutors have decided how many marijuana cases will be dropped because of the new law that legalized pot.
Action News learned 54 pending cases will be tossed. That's about half of the ones that fell within the limits of what the new law allows despite the charges coming before the new law took effect.
Another 45 cases will still go through the system.
About a dozen are under special agreements where the offenders must meet conditions of the state before they can be dismissed.
