Yakima county set to reconstruct local roads

Yakima County announced its plans to re-do roads around the area.
The plans include more than $35,000,000 in projects, but much of the cost would come from grants.

One of the projects most likely to get that grant money is on Maple Court and Hillcrest Drive.
Yakima County wants to rebuild the bridge, add an extra lane on the road, as well as sidewalks, gutters, and street lights.

One neighbor is all for it.
"I think that's a great idea there's a lot of pedestrians that walk the streets including children and bicyclists, and the road's so narrow that any time a car might hit them," said Justine Kochie.

Total cost of this project alone is more than $1,000,000.
