Yakima City Council members approved projects benefiting the community
YAKIMA Wash. -- Yakima City Council members will move forward with several projects benefiting the community.
The council agreed to keep the work of road design and development for the East - West Corridor.
They passed the amount of $1,066,405 for the project.
The council also agreed to purchase the property of Congdon Development Company, LLC, north of SOZO, to be developed into a public park and recreation area by SOZO Sports of Central Washington.
"For additional resources for folks who aren't playing soccer at the time and tournaments are going on who have another opportunity to enjoy the area and not have to go to a different location," said City Attorney Jeff Cutter.
The council also approved to borrow money through the state treasurer office for the Streetlight Upgrade Project which will help reduce crime.
