Yakima burn ban lifted
YAKIMA, Wash.-- A burn ban is no longer in place for Yakima County.
[Update, January 2] The Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency said due to improving weather conditions, indoor and outdoor burning is no longer banned.
---End of Update---
Hold off on lighting up those fireplaces.
Yakima's burn ban has been upgraded to stage 2.
Because of weather conditions, the use of fireplaces, wood burning stoves, fire place inserts, and pellet stoves aren't allowed until further notice.
Use of them would add to the increase in air pollutants.
The Yakima Regional Clean Air Agency asks people to refrain from burning, unless it's their only source of heat.
