Yakima approves cell phone tower ordinance

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima has new rules for new cell phone towers. They all must be camouflaged.

This only affects future towers. They will have to match or blend in with their surroundings. Yakima will also try to find a different location if a tower would be within 300 feet of a home. People we talked to seem to favor the new rules.

"Camouflage, they could definitely improve the look of the town if there were made into statues or something appealing to the public," said Korey Ward.

The new changes take effect in Yakima next month.
