WSDOT wants drivers to prepare for winter weather on Snoqualmie Pass

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. - Those driving Snoqualmie Pass are asked to prepare for winter conditions with snow in the forecast.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said snow is likely to hit the Cascade Mountains, which includes Snoqualmie Pass, for the weekend of Oct. 20 through 22.

The department recommends that travelers take precautionary actions when driving the pass including driving at slower speeds and leaving extra space for the vehicle in front of you.

A list of safety measures to practice for driving in winter conditions can be found at this link.

WSDOT leaders also want to inform drivers of possible construction-related lane closures during the week of Oct. 23 between North Bend and Easton as road crews are finishing up work for the season.
