Woman not being charged in domestic stabbing death
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - At this time charges will not be filed against a woman who was arrested in the stabbing death of a 46-year-old man.
A news release said the Yakima County Prosecutors Office and the Yakima Police Department have decided not to file criminal charges against Karina Enriquez at this time, April 11.
Enriquez was previously charged with second degree malicious mischief after investigators said she stabbed Carlos Meza on April 8, causing his death.
The release stated Meza had been charged with burglary, assault in violation of a protection order and malicious mischief against Enriquez. The couple also had a no contact order that prevented them from seeing each other at the time of the stabbing, according to reports.
The Prosecutor's Office will not file criminal charges against Enriquez at this time based on earlier charges and the history of domestic violence between the two.
Officials continue to investigate this case.
