Woman leads deputies on high speed chase with child in vehicle

NEAR BUENA, Wash -- A 34-year old Selah woman is behind bars after leading Yakima County Sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase, with her child in the vehicle.

This happened about 7pm Thursday on Yakima Valley Highway, west of Buena. A deputy tried to stop a gray van driving over the center line, it nearly hit the deputy head-on. The driver lead police on a chase for about 3 miles at speeds of 60 to 70 miles per hour.

Deputies finally stopped the woman and found her 5-year old son in the van, without a car seat or seat belt. The woman was booked for eluding, DUI and reckless endangerment.
