Where are fireworks legal? Check it out here

With the July fourth holiday quickly approaching the Yakima County Sheriff's Office would like to remind the citizens of Yakima County of the laws relating to fireworks. Under Yakima County Code 8.46, possession of all fireworks is illegal in Yakima County. A violation of this code is a misdemeanor and the violator can face a fine of up to one thousand dollars or imprisonment for up to ninety days. Only enrolled Yakama Tribal Members on the Yakama Reservation are exempt from this code.

The fire danger in Yakima County is extremely high as shown by the recent fire on the L.T. Murray Game Reserve. We would like to encourage everyone to have a safe holiday and attend the public displays being offered in six cities in our valley.

I have also included a joint public service announcement from the Sheriff's Office and the Yakima County Fire Marshall's Office.

Below is a list of cities within the county and their restrictions.
