Volunteers needed for Point in Time homeless count in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Volunteers are needed for the annual Point In Time homeless count in the Yakima county.
Crystal Testerman with the Yakima Valley Conference of Governments says this one day count will help collect important information about homelessness and provide funding.
According to a press release, the annual Point In Time homeless count will take place next Thursday from 6 in the morning to 8 in the afternoon.
Yakima Mayor Kathy Coffey says the public’s help is needed because an accurate count is vital to make sure sufficient services are available for the homeless.
There will be four Homeless Census Hubs in the city; The Union Gospel Mission, Rod’s House, The Depot and Transform Yakima Together.
