U.S. Supreme Court makes ruling in Yakima case

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A U.S. Supreme Court decision with big implications came Thursday. And, it was based on a case with Yakima ties.

The court made it more difficult for the president to temporarily fill high-level federal jobs.

The National Labor Relations Board ruled against Yakima soda bottler, Noel Canning, a couple of years ago. It was over a union negotiation. Noel Canning appealed.

The company argued President Obama improperly appointed three board members. The high court agrees.

Justices said Congress makes the decision of when it is on recess.
