Two people hospitalized after apartment fire
YAKIMA, Wash.- Fire crews responded to a blazing apartment fire that left two people in the hospital.
Yakima fire crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to an apartment fire at 322 W. Yakima Ave. Fire crews say several people who live in the apartments were still trapped.
"They went into rescue mode to rescue trapped occupants. We got about five or six occupants out. Couple were mobile, didn't need our help, we just guided them downstairs. Then we went into fire attack mode and extinguished the fire," said City of Yakima Operations Chief Patrick Reid.
Fire crews were able to rescue everyone in the building. Some were in stable condition, but two people were taken to a hospital. Fire crews are still investigating the cause of fire, as well as estimated damages.
