Two men shot at Yakima Halloween party

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police say two gang members were shot in the torso and legs at 2 a.m. Sunday morning at a Halloween party. It happened on the 100 block of North 44th Avenue.

Witnesses told officers that one person was kicked out of the party earlier that night. The person returned with three or four friends all in costume. The suspect opened fire and shot two men. Police have not found the shooter.

One victim was transported immediately by private vehicle to a hospital, and the second victim was taken by ambulance a short time later.

According to hospital personnel, both victims are expected to survive with serious gunshot wounds.

The Gang Unit is investigating and say the people involved on both sides are gang affiliated. Evidence was collected at the scene and investigation continues to identify suspects involved.
