Sheriff deputies responding to the area located the vehicle and the two suspects were taken into custody. The suspects and vehicle were positively identified by the home owner.
Sheriff's deputies sought authorization from Yakima County Superior Court to book the juveniles into the Yakima County Juvenile Detention Facility, but due to the facility being at maximum population approval were denied. One of the juvenile suspects is currently out on bail from Kittitas County on a burglary charge. Kittitas County has been contacted and will be proceeding with revocation of the suspects bail. Both suspects were released into the custody of their parents.
Probable cause statements requesting charges of burglary have been forwarded to the Yakima County Prosecutors Office.
Late this afternoon a warrant for the arrest of one of the suspects in this burglary was issued by Kittitas County. The warrant directed the arrest of the defendant for the reason that the defendant committed a new crime while on release. Members of the Violent Crimes Task Force served the warrant and the juvenile male was taken into custody. He was transported to Kittitas County where he was booked.
