Bald eagle hit by vehicle while diving for prey along SR-14 in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, Wash. – An injured bald eagle is recovering with the Portland Audubon Society after it was found injured along SR-14 on Tuesday morning.
A passing driver saw the bird "dive for prey" before it was hit by a passing vehicle, Washington State Patrol said.
The driver stopped to get help, and Washington State Patrol Trooper Ching also assisted in getting the bird to safety, WSP said.
The eagle is now on its way to recovery with volunteers at the Audubon Society.
