Three candidates plan to file for Selah City Council.

SELAH, Wash.- Three Selah residents say they're filing this week to run for vacant seats on the city council.

Spots are being made available after current council members Laura Ritchie, Paul Overby, and Roy Sample have said they don't plan to run for re-election.

Jeremie Dufault is vying for position #1, Jacquie Matson for position #2 and Rachael Glaspie for position #3.

Dufault is a real estate investor and property manager who lives in Selah with his wife and young daughter. He is also a lawyer and a Major in the United States Army Reserve. He has served in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Matson is a resident of Selah where she owned and ran Norma Jean’s Café before joining Graf Investments 20 years ago. She is the company’s real estate and operations manager. Matson has been involved in a number of community organizations and charities and was actively involved in the schools when her children attended.

Glaspie was born and raised in Selah and returned to her hometown with her husband and two children a few years ago to open Selah Allstate Insurance downtown. She started the “Selah Neighbors” Facebook page and is actively involved in the Selah Downtown Association. She is also a softball coach at the junior high school.
