YAKIMA, Wash. -- It's an event the whole family looks forward to every year. The 2013 Central Washington State Fair is just a few months away.
Organizers announced the concert lineup Tuesday which includes something for everyone.
"We are very happy with this year's lineup of entertainers," said Greg Stewart, fair president and general manager. "We have worked hard at getting a variety of different kinds of groups to appeal to many different tastes."
The lineup includes:
- Classic rock band Styx
- Country performers Lonestar and Sawyer Brown
- Pop group Plain White T's
- Christian rock group Kutless
- Western group Riders in the Sky
- Comedy duo Williams and Ree
Stewart said the fair is trying to find another act to appeal to a younger audience. He also told KIMA they'll have a big name Latino act on the final Sunday of the fair.
Organizers have added a new rodeo event and the demolition derby will be back. American Sprint Car Series Northwest Region racing will be at the grandstand on the opening weekend of the fair.
Free events include the return of the Walk on the Wild Side exhibit which features exotic animals and reptiles, Barnville where kids can milk a cow and a superhero exhibit called Hall of Heroes.
Tickets for reserved seating at the Budweiser Stage and Coca-Cola Grandstand go on at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31st. Free seating for each performance is limited.
The fair runs from September 20th through September 29th at Yakima's State Fair Park.
