Suspicious bag brings big police response to Downtown Seattle

SEATTLE -- The discovery of an unattended backpack led police to close down some streets in Downtown Seattle Tuesday morning.

Security guards said they believed they had seen wires in the backpack near the entrance to the Metro bus tunnel and the King County courthouse at 3rd and Yesler just after 10 a.m.

Police closed off nearby streets and sent in their bomb robot to check it out.

Police determined the backpack only had a hair dryer and reopened the streets about an hour later.
