Suspects in broker beating case face 1st-degree murder charges

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Four people now face premeditated murder charges for the death of a Yakima realtor.

The group is accused of planning and carrying out the attack on Vern Holbrook last spring. The Yakima real estate agent was beaten severely and had his throat slit. He was found in a home he had up for sale.

He never recovered from his injuries and died over the weekend. Prosecutors upped the charges after his death. They believe the motive had to do with money.
