Sunnyside police officer faces domestic violence charges, investigation
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - A Sunnyside police officer is facing multiple charges for domestic violence.
According to court papers, 38-year-old Anthony Russell of Granger has had numerous domestic violence calls made against him.
Investigators listened to recordings of calls made to police back in January from the alleged victim and found probable cause to arrest Russell.
The alleged victim waited to come forward due to fears for her life according to court papers.
Sunnyside police commander Scott Bailey told KIMA Action News Russell has been on administrative leave since October and is the subject of an internal investigation.
