The agreement, signed on Monday, was negotiated through a federal mediation service offered by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Under the agreement, the Yakama Nation will purchase fuel with the state fuel tax included. They will report their purchases to the state and receive 75 percent of the state fuel tax revenue collected as a refund. The state will retain 25 percent as state tax.
The Yakama Nation also agreed to pay a $9 million settlement.
