St. Patrick's Day helps local businesses

YAKIMA, Wash. -- You may be wearing green to celebrate Saint Patrick's day. Businesses in Yakima are also bringing in the green with more customers helping their sales on this holiday.

Some local bars KIMA spoke with said they predict a 20-percent increase in sales on St. Patrick's Day. They've had to provide extra staff and extra stockings. Some had specials since Friday which has brought more customers in all weekend. One Sportscenter employee said business will help the local economy.

"I'm hoping it's going to be busy today," said Christian Durham. "Every holiday it brings out people. This is the last holiday that people are doing to come out for before summer time hits."

Some businesses said since the holiday falls on a Sunday this year, less people may come out compared to previous years.
