Crews close to opening Maple Valley Highway after slide
RENTON, Wash. -- Crews are removing a mudslide that closed the westbound lanes of the Maple Valley Highway in Renton on Thursday morning.
Just before 3 p.m., one westbound lane was open, and officials had hoped to get the entire highway open before the afternoon commute.
But the city reported at abut 5:30 p.m. that it might take three more hours.
Both eastbound lanes are open.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed at Cedar Park River Drive, near the Henry Moses Aquatics Center.
