Selah can dig out of $4 million debt with new real estate offer

SELAH, Wash. -- The city finally has an offer on a commercial lot it's been trying to unload for years.

Selah made its own counteroffer Thursday evening.

Selah has a $4 million debt associated with the Merudo property.

The city bought it years ago but hasn't been able to develop or sell it.

Property owners now pay higher taxes to make up for the loss.

Someone offered to buy almost three acres of the Merudo property.
