Selah begins campaign to beautify city

SELAH, Wash. -- Selah's Mayor is starting a new campaign to beautify the city.

The plan is to beautify the downtown with new lighting, signs and plants.

The mayor says the city's farm antiques at the Agricultural museum will be moved back to Selah parks this summer.

City officials say it's too early to tell how much the project will cost.

One Selah business owner says previous beautification projects have been a waste of money.

"We need to make sure the money is well spent on whatever we're going to do to beautify. But, there's a lot of be beautified in Selah, Tiffany Minton said.

Selah is looking to other cities like Yakima and Grandview for ideas.

Official plans for the beautification will be released in a few days.
