Search continues for missing skier at Mount Rainier National Park
WASHINGTON -- The search continues for a 30-year-old man who fell into a hole while skiing at Mount Rainier National Park nearly a week ago.
Park rangers said the Washington man, whose identity hasn't been released, disappeared into a hole in the snow over the rushing waters of Pebble Creek on Monday, July 3. They said the victim was skiing from Camp Muir to Paradise when his ski partner saw him fall.
Rescue crews have been searching the area but said there is unstable snow of up to five feet creating hazardous conditions over the creek.
Park officials said ground and air crews will continue looking for the victim as weather conditions permit.
