Rain helping crews fighting Kittitas County fires

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- More rain in Kittitas County was a great sight for crews fighting two wildfires.

The Snag Canyon Fire north of Ellensburg is still 60 percent contained. Commanders now say it's destroyed nine houses.

Kittitas County authorities warned property owners in the Wilson and Naneum Canyon areas to beware of possible flooding in the burned areas.

The South Cle Elum Ridge Fire is about a quarter contained.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital yesterday after being hit by a rolling log. Another was injured in a vehicle accident. Authorities say all three are doing well.
