YAKIMA Wash. -- Yakima city leaders are taking steps to clear out illegal activity in neighborhoods.

A property at Walnut and South 7th street was raided in March for illegal drug activity and prostitution.

City workers are now cleaning it up.

When they started it had between 6 and 8 feet of trash and debris.

“The neighbors have really had a lot of problems here with this activity that’s been going on. The neighbors are ecstatic now the city's ecstatic,” said Code Administration Manager Joe Caruso.

City workers say the unit will now stay boarded up and maintained.
