Radio Yakima moving downtown in September

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Some of your favorite radio stations are moving to a new location downtown next month. As part of the move, crews installed an antenna on top of the Larson building.

They had to shut down part of Second Street to do it. It took a few hours. KXDD, Hot 99, Cherry FM and Bob FM will broadcast from offices under The Lofts apartments. Managers said the new location will allow for more interaction.

"They're going to be able to walk by the street and see the DJ's on the air and more interaction between the public and the stations and it gives that real hometown feel," said Radio Yakima Spokesperson Kelly Gasseling.

The move should be done in a couple weeks.
