Prosser teen killed in car wreck

Chiloquin, OREGON - A 15 year old girl died in a single vehicle roll over on Highway 97 near Chiloquin Saturday. Investigators determined she was not wearing a seat belt.

The Jeep Cherokee, driven by Olga Rivera-Chavez from Sunnyside, drifted off the southbound lanes. Once the car hit the shoulder she lost control. Once back on the highway the car rolled several times, ejecting the Prosser teen. Oregon State Police from the Klamath Falls Area Command are continuing to investigate.

Six other occupants from Yakima and Sunnyside were treated for minor injuries. They were all wearing proper seat belts and restraints.

Police have not released the teen's name.

Fatigue is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
