Prosecutors look to try 15-year-old murder suspect as adult

YAKIMA, Wash. -- KIMA learned prosecutors will now look to try a 15-year murder suspect as an adult.

Daniel Perez, Junior was formally charged with second degree murder Friday in a juvenile courtroom.

Trying him as an adult will ultimately be decided by a judge. If he was 16 instead of 15 the decision would be automatic.

Perez is accused of killing a man in a gang fight Tuesday night.

The second murder suspect in this case appeared in court Friday as well. Irving Alvarez is also facing second degree murder charges.

He will be back in court next month.
